KETCHUM, Idaho (CBS2) — A condo fire in Ketchum Idaho torched 26 homes Saturday evening. No humans were lost in the blaze.
The fire broke out Saturday Sep. 3, at approximately 7:30 p.m., at Limelight Condominiums on 2107 Warm Springs Road in Ketchum.
Crews received notice of the fire at 7:38 p.m. and were on-scene within four minutes. Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey and Wood River fire departments responded to the call.
Firefighters searched the building before combatting the fire. The team reported zero human casualties. It's unclear if there were any pets lost to the fire.
Ketchum Fire Chief Bill McLaughlin was grateful for quick response times in fighting the fire, as well as the multiple crews that responded.
"I am thankful to all the crews that responded valley-wide," McLaughlin said. "This type of collaboration is critical when fighting a fire of this magnitude."
The cause of the fire in currently unknown and under investigation by a state fire marshal inspector.
Ketchum is working on connecting those who have lost their homes with members of the community who are willing to help. Short-term and long-term housing arrangements are being made through the city's Housing Strategist, Carissa Connelly.
Representatives from Idaho Falls' American Red Cross are traveling to Ketchum to provide essential items, and assist those in need.
